Moderator – Marilyn Underwood Biography
Marilyn C. Underwood, Ph.D. is currently the Environmental Health Director of Contra Costa County. Prior to joining the county in March 2011, Dr. Underwood led a Centers for Disease Control-funded project housed within the California Department of Public Health. In that capacity, Dr. Underwood directed a multidisciplinary unit who evaluated exposure and health effects of living next to hazardous chemical facilities and hazardous waste sites all over California. Dr. Underwood received her Bachelors of Science in Chemistry at Marietta College and a Doctorate of Philosophy in Comparative Pharmacology and Toxicology at the University of California at San Francisco.
